Looking for some unique coloring pages? Check out the "Quirky Animals Adult Coloring Pages Vol. 1 & 2" (click the link or scroll to the end of the post). I created these coloring pages with the help of AI. I find the current AI Art-Generators to be utterly fascinating. Within seconds they can generate beautiful works of art meeting the goals of the prompt. These tools are still in their infancy and their outputs can be unexpected and surprising, which is what makes them so interesting. Read on to learn how to create your own coloring pages and ideas on how to use this guide.
How to Create Your Own Coloring Pages with AI-Art Generators
I utilized Dream by Wombo to generate my coloring pages. I generated over a hundred until I found the ones I liked. The great thing about Wombo is that it's completely free to use the basic version and you can continuously create images with no limitations. If the website freezes up, just refresh and start over.
I used the following base prompts and just changed the type of animal I wanted to create:
"__________" stands for a type of animal, for example "frog", "dolphin", etc.
__________, intricate background, fantasy, magical, mystical, unusual, black and white ouline line art drawing, white background
__________, intricate background, fantasy, magical, mystical, unusual, black and white ouline line art drawing
__________, coloring page for coloring book, page fully filled, black and white, lines, line art drawing, coloring book page, no noise, thick crisp lines
intricate coloring book page of __________, black and white, outline drawing
__________, coloring page for coloring book, page fully filled, black and white, lines, line art drawing, coloring book page, no noise, thick crisp lines
Experiment with the different art styles to find your favorites. The following were the ones I liked best after trying all the free options:
Bullojourney v2
Illustrated v2
Dreamwave v2
Line-Art
Ink
Bues v2
Cartoonist
Retro-Futurism
Paint
Realistic
Bad Trip
I then uploaded the designs I liked into Canva to edit them.
Simply create a new letter size design (8.5x11 in.) and upload your image.
Expand the size of the image and center it on the page. You won't be able to include the entire image so just use the most visually appealing part that looks balanced. Don't forget about the print bleed margin.
Next click on the "edit photo" option to change the image light, color, and texture.
Then click on "adjust" and test out different combinations to find the options that create more white space in your image, remove shadows to reveal more detail, increase sharpness, etc.
Once you have completed editing your designs, download a PDF and print. Share your creations with others. If you're a teaching artist/educator you can teach this process to your students. You can even sell them as coloring books or digital downloads. Let me know about your experience with creating your own coloring pages in the comments.
